A survey conducted by Osterman Research and Silverfort found that 83% of organisations have experienced a security breach involving compromised credentials, indicating a serious weakness in their ability to protect themselves. Increasing cyber risks such as account takeovers, lateral movement, and ransomware spread have made it crucial for organizations to develop resilience against such attacks. By ensuring they have the ability to prevent malicious access to their resources with compromised credentials in real-time, they are able to prevent malicious access.

One solution is multi-factor authentication (MFA). In MFA, the user is required to provide two or more verification factors in order to gain access to a resource, such as an application or online account. It provides multiple layers of defence for organisations’ accounts, ensuring that all individuals accessing company information are in fact who they claim to be. By doing so, security breaches are prevented and the risk of account compromise is reduced.

In order to provide sound protection, MFA must be implemented comprehensively. According to the survey, only 1 in 8 organisations have more than 70% of their resources and access methods covered. As a result, most organisations have an ‘alarmingly insufficient’ defence against identity-based attacks.

What can your organisation do to overcome this challenge?

As part of the C-STEM SmartServices Toolkit, Silverfort’s holistic authentication platform monitors user access across all systems and environments and enforces adaptive AI-driven MFA, without agents, proxies or local configurations. It enables organisations to mitigate threats in real-time and comply with various regulations and industry standards.

How does the Silverfort Platform benefit your organisation?

  1. Agentless MFA for Any Sensitive Asset, including “Unprotectable” Systems – Silverfort’s agentless MFA technology enforces MFA on access to sensitive systems across corporate networks and cloud environments, extending protection to systems considered “unprotectable” until today, including homegrown and critical business applications, regulated systems, production servers, IT infrastructure, administrative access, file shares, IoT devices and more.
  2. AI-Driven Adaptive Authentication Across All Systems and Environments – Silverfort’s advanced AI-based risk engine detects identity-related threats, including account takeover, lateral movement, ransomware and brute-force attacks, enabling real-time threat mitigation without disrupting the user experience.
  3. Full Visibility, Continuous Risk and Trust Assessment – Silverfort’s agentless architecture and holistic approach provide a big advantage as they enable unparalleled visibility into all user and machine activities across all systems and environments, continuously assessing risk and trust for every access request with unmatched accuracy.
  4. Addressing Compliance Requirements – Silverfort helps organisations achieve compliance with numerous regulations some of which include PCI DSS, GDPR, and HIPAA and HITECH.
